A variety of custom gun services are available through our shop. The spectrum of services ranges from the complete custom gun, metalwork only, stock work only, synthetic and laminated stock work, stock shaping and inletting, to general restoration and repair of firearms. It is our desire to provide the finest in workmanship and artistry in whatever endeavor we undertake.

All firearms must be safe, functional, and accurate. We will not attempt any project, either by design or choice of materials, that may result in an unsafe firearm.

We define function in two ways:

1. Mechanically, the firearm will operate flawlessly.
2. The firearm will have proper handling qualities (balance) for the intended purpose. For example, a firearm for serious varmint shooting must be designed differently than one used for dangerous game hunting.

Accuracy is also defined with respect to the primary use of the firearm. For example, a well-balanced hunting rifle for use on deer class game should shoot 1 to 1-1/2 inch five shot group at 100 meters with standard factory ammunition and a scope site of normal power.

The Black Widow rifle was developed in my shop for the late Mr. Patrick Taylor for game management on his East African property. The original design was based on the Winchester Classic Model 70 action, with a custom short heavy contoured barrel chambered in .375 H&H and .416 Rem. Mag. These rifles where fitted with a rugged receiver sight and large bead front sight regulated for 50m. Additionally they were fitted with a Leupold 1.6-6X32 in Talley quick detachable rings. The rear custom base also houses the rugged receiver sight.

Winchester Classic Model 70, .300 Win Magnum

The Black Widow has evolved from the game management specialized rifle design into a more general purpose rifle design for those interested in a modestly priced semi-custom rifle. Still available as a game management tool other designs are also available. Varmint, Lightweight, Standard, Long Range and Safari designs are available. The Winchester Classic Model 70 and the Remington 700 actions are the most popular but other actions are available. Barrels are fitted with chromemoloy or stainless steel in various contours, fluted or octagonal. All standard and popular wildcat chamberings are available. Standard finish for both stock and metal is a black matte finish, other finishes upon request. The Black Widow is not a production rifle. It is a semi-custom rifle built to near normal specification. Many custom features can be incorporated as with the full custom rifles.

It is our desire to build a treasure of a lifetime. We will technically and artistically construct a firearm to your personal dimensions and desires.

We offer two grades of custom guns in our shop. The same best quality of workmanship and materials are used in both grades. The differences are in the accessories and embellishments included in the completed gun.
